The Cape House

Had a great stay here with some friends for a Fall beach weekend. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking, and very close to the beach :)

Property was clean, but that's about all the good I can say. You can't see the ocean due to the neighbor's trees and house balcony faces south. All amenities are upstairs and this should be noted on the property profile, not ADA or small child friendly. This property allows dogs, but is not fenced and is on a very very busy street. I would NOT stay here again and would NOT recommend it to anyone. We have stayed in other Shorething properties that we like, but this one not at all. Hope this is helpful.

Nice home but no view of Ocean at all. Both bathrooms had pedestal sinks so there is nowhere to put toiletries etc. Driveway is too steep for my car, it scraped the bottom every time I pulled in or out.

This house was well stocked in the kitchen and had big roomy bedrooms. The dining area is tight. Great deck. Good location but too far to walk to beach. WiFi is not strong. Overall great deal!

Stayed here with another family and their kids. We had such a blast. Very spacious rooms, super close to the beach, clean home. The garage was fun for the kids to play in. My only complaint is there was a faint smell of mildew in the large downstairs bedroom and some of the kitchen towels smelled old and gross. Everything else was perfect and we would stay here again!

For our family, this met our needs perfectly. The downstairs room with a double bed and adjoining bathroom was great for the young couple with a baby. When we weren't at the beach, a short walk away, the common areas were great for hanging out. Everything worked well.

We celebrated our 50th Anniversary with our kids and families. Couldn't have picked a better place! House was so clean, fluffy towels, everything we needed to cook with in kitchen. Close to beach. Contacted Sara with a couple questions, she replied right away. We enjoyed ourselves very much! Would definitely like to come again. Thanks so much to all!

The house was nice and relatively spacious. There was definitely not enough room for as many people as it says, unless it’s mostly kids. We appreciated that they let us bring our dogs. The area around the house was nice. The inside of the house, especially the kitchen, was fully stocked. The driveway is a complete nightmare. It goes straight up and can barely fit two cars very close to each other. Other than that everything was good. The walk to the beach goes through the cute town of Oceanside. Don’t go to the closest area unless you want to slide down a steep cliff. Go down the street and go right and keep walking down until you get to the bigger parking lots.

Perfectly accommodated all of our needs. Beach was a short walk from the house. Will be taking another trip here in the future

Very clean house and we loved the amenities it had to offer; no stress we relaxed and enjoyed family time and we made out meals here and the house had every things we needed to do so

Cape House is in a great spot just a few mins walk to the beach where agate hunting is plentiful and a great relaxing pastime. The house is larger than it looks and the space is maximized with furniture placement. It’s nice enough that it’s ‘nice’ but not too fancy that you still feel at home. The kitchen is well stocked with more than we expected, though we did have to wash most the dishes before using them. Everything else was nice and clean! The beds were decently comfortable and everyone liked the pillows. We had a group of 12 and never felt cramped. The ping pong table was a hit! Parking is tight for a big house, don’t bring more than 2 cars. Overall I would surely book this property again in the future.

The house was clean and comfortable for 5 adults, 5 kids (ages 9-18) and two dogs. Great location and the kitchen was fantastic We celebrated Thanksgiving and had plenty of space and room to cook/serve.

Another year at the Cape house in oceanside

Nice clean home and didn't realize a ping pong table was in basement.
We had a great time

This was our first time to Oceanside and we loved it! Because of COVID, we did not try out any of the local shops or restaurants, but loved the expansive beach, the "secret beach" beyond the tunnel, and the house was perfect for our two (COVID bubble, vaccinated) families. The kids loved the pingpong and foosball, and it was good to have a separate space for them to play while the adults hung out. The kitchen is HUGE and the most well-equipped kitchen of any vacation rental I have been in.

We had a good time celebrating New Years' here. We walked to the beach several times. The bedrooms were comfortable and the layout worked really well for our family with kids downstairs and adults upstairs. The kitchen is well equipped and there were plenty of basic supplies available. The house manager was very communicative and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at The Cape house! It was clean and spacious. We loved cooking in the well-equipped kitchen and family time in the living room. We could see a little peek of the ocean and hear it when we were on the porch. It's a quick walk to the ocean from the house. The property management company was very informative and kind. We will be back!

We have rented the Cape house for 4 years. The home has a great layout. The gourmet kitchen is a dream to cook in, along with a barbecue on the covered deck, just steps away.
Everytime our family goes there, it's like going home. We know it has all the conveniences we need.
Shore Thing vacation rentals has always been a great help, making sure our trip is so enjoyable.

Had my family stay here during my sons graduation for 3 nights and just a short distance from the beach. The kitchen was large enough to host several dinners and BBQ outside. Great experience and would rent this again.

We had a great overall experience. The location to the beach and small town were great. The rooms accommodated our group very well, and the ping pong table was a lifesaver on the one very rainy day. The yard is not fenced and on a fairly busy road so you have to really watch your dog. Also, it would have been great if there had been another loveseat in the living room. We were all doing a puzzle and there just wasn’t enough seating for 10. But overall it was a great experience and well appointed home!

Had a great time with our family. Fortunately the weather cooperated. But the house was great and we were pleased with the friendliness of the management company.

We had a great time! Even though it rained all day one of our three days (as expected), there was plenty to do in Tillamook and in the house. We loved the game room downstairs and all of the board games and Roku (we did have to log into our own streaming accounts, though).
There were just the two of us and our dog, and we had plenty of room. The house can fit a lot of guests, but I’d be a little nervous about the hot water running out with too many people. It started to get a little lukewarm by the end of our showers with just the two of us.

It was a fun weekend away. There’s no clear view of the ocean but you can hear it and see a little bit. The deck faces the road unfortunately. Easy jaunt to downtown and beach access. Set up was nice where kids could be downstairs and in the garage playing while adults relaxed upstairs. We had a great time and sunny weather. The coffee shop downstairs was supposed to be open Sunday but it wasn’t March 10 unless it opened later.

We had a wonderful weekend at the beach, while the weather was raining we were able to play pingpong and foosball. The open livingroom and kitchen made it easy to be able to goof around and still be part of the group while preparing meals. The patio area where the outdoor fireplace is small and not enclosed but adequate.

What a fabulous home! Very clean, lots of space and steps to the beach! What else could you ask for? Already planning our trip back!

We arrived to the rental around 2 am and did not read the emails about not having cell reception. We drove back to an area that had reception and pulled up the email which unfortunately did not have the attached pdf with the info for the door code. It gave an emergency contact number and to our surprise the phone was answered. I believe her name was Sara. She gets an A+ for service. I don’t know about you, but if I was woken up at 2 am I’m not sure if I could provide courteous five star service. Thank you sara. As for the property. Great location a short walk down to the beach. Amazing views. Clean property. Everything you need in the kitchen. Friendly local bars nearby (the upstairs bar). Would definitely come back

This is an amazing oceanside vacation house. We have stayed there going on 5 years.
Easy walk to the beach. Home has every modern convenience you could want, so all you need to bring is your suitcase....and enjoy. Manager, Monica and her assistant Sarah are extremely helpful.
Were already booked for 2019.

This place was perfect for our stay. We had 6 kids ranging ages from 1-10 years old. 4 adults. You can easily walk to the beach which we tried once (10 min). After that we drove as its a bit easier with young kids (1 min).

The house was much better than the photos or description suggests. We were pleasantly surprised. Our only issue with the house was the digital thermostat which was set to turn the heat off at night so we woke up chilly. Our host is looking into resolve the issue for future visitors.

Thank you Monica and Sarah for your prompt responses to ansy questions we had about the rental before and during our stay. We would come back!

I would definitely recommend this house. If you go to Oceanside stop by Happy Camp in Netarts. The beach is lovely and it's so peaceful. A great place to sit and watch the birds in the bay and see the ocean in the distance. The little store in Netarts has essentials if you need them.

We stayed with our family and my sister and parent for a weekend. Very nice house with everything you need. You can walk to the beach and town. Unlike most of the rental property, this house provides you with enough supplies and good quality.

Our weekend at cape house was a special time for us , to be together as a family before our son and his fianc returned to Korea for 2 years. We found the house perfectly cleaned,perfectly maintained with all the room we needed. We especially loved the big kitchen, as we love to cook together.The location was perfect, just enough walk to the beach. Thanks also for the games and children's toys. It really was quite perfect for our family.

three couples and two infants. the lower bedroom was very large with a bunk bed, queen bed and en suite bathroom, and an adjacent bedroom across the hall.
This was perfect for the couple with children who could have privacy and quiet away from the other vacationers. the kitchen is very well-appointed with wonderful cutlery, crockpot, popcorn maker and lots of pots and pans. No shortage of cookware. The unit was extremely clean. would recommend this unit to anyone with children. The only drawback is some stairs to the main floor which would present a problem to a disabled or elderly person.

Our family lives all over the US and because of schedules we are unable to get together for a summer vacation very often. The last time was 3 years ago. So we value our time. The Cape House was a beautiful place to stay and with 9 of us, we never felt like we were on top of each other but yet when we played card games or ate together there was plenty of space.
The house was clean and had lots of amenities and was just a short walk to beach access. There was a tiny view of the ocean but we were okay with that.
Monica was very available but we only needed to contact her once during our stay when we had a bit of trouble with the internet. The problem was quickly resolved.
We love Oceanside because it's not as "touristy" as other places but yet if you want to get a great cup of coffee or eat a fine meal, there are nice places to do so. The beach is a very nice beach, not as crowded as other places, with a cool cave to explore!
I would highly recommend the Shore Thing and The Cape House.

Home was everything we could ask for. Plenty of beds, nice living area. We didn't use the kitchen much, but it has a great table for playing cards.

This home was used as one of the accommodations for Corporate State Retreat. The location in the heart of Oceanside was delightful and the home was is good condition.

The house was great and had more than enough room for six adults and two children. The kitchen was well-stocked and had everything we needed to prepare all of our meals. It was also in an ideal location...very close to the beach, and on the same road as the Cape Meares Lighthouse.

I'd definitely stay here again!

This home spares no detail. The cooks kitchen a dream! They also provide sand buckets, wagon and toys for kids. The home is tastefully decorated and was absolutely perfect. We loved the ability to park in a garage. Located close to the beach. The property manager was a pleasure to communicate with. Can't wait to return.

We loved staying at The Cape House! It was beautiful, comfortable and came with surprisingly great views. So much space for our large crew to spread out and very close to everything we wanted to do. Thanks again!

The house was lovely and comfortable. There was plenty of room for 6 adults. All our needs were met. I am amazed of the concern and preparedness of the owners for their guest's safety and health. Grab and go bags, raincoats etc all for our use should we need it. I have never seen this before. Thank you! Only issue for us was no cell service which posed a problem because one couple got lost coming to the house.

We met with family from MT for a quick 3-day stay. Incredible home - clean, roomy and a walk to the beach. Kitchen was amazing - they had everything you could ever need.... and a herb garden outside! Great movie, book and game selection. Highly recommend this home for a quiet getaway.

We used this home for a staff retreat and it was perfect!

We enjoyed the stay in this well kept, clean home with a well functioning and stocked kitchen. With a family that likes to eat at home, this was a big plus. There was plenty of room for sleeping and visiting. Toys and games for the youngsters. To get to the beach, you had to walk along the street which was difficult with little ones.

We really enjoyed our stay and had everything we needed. The house was clean and inviting. The only thing missing was a view of the ocean from the house, but it was only a short walk away. We were able to have a fire in the beach and the area was beautiful!

Our family: 6 adults (2 married couples and 2 single women) had a great week staying in Cape House. The house is beautiful. The manager, Monica, could not be better! When we had an issue with the fridge, she came as soon as she could.

The house isn't typical for Oceanside, there isn't a great ocean view. It is a walk to the beach; about a quarter of a mile one direction about just over a tenth the other.

There isn't cable or satellite television, so bring a lot of DVD's. There is a Ruko. The seating was good, for 5. As we were six, someone ended up on the floor on in a kitchen chair.

The deck is very nice and we really enjoyed the gas grill. The kitchen was wonderful and had everything we needed.

As we were all adults, it would have been nice to have 4 real beds, instead of a futon. I was aware that it was a futon before I rented this home, however. Everything taken into consideration, this was a great place to spend a week.

We had a great stay at the Cape House. We shared the house with other families and made great use of the shared space and kitchen.
